Local Actions are in Action! ✊🏻
🎬 Local actions are still in action and it's continuous!
We have our own way of celebrating International Children's 🧒 Day and it means series of informative and resourceful workshops aiming to stimulate youth 👦🏼 👦🏻 👧🏽 👧🏻 participation and youth initiatives. Participants and Trainers of 🛆 #Triangle4Youth visited the city of Zugdidi for two days (June 1-2), where the meeting was held with the representatives of Zugdidi Municipality City Hall, Ministry of Education, Monument Protection, Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs, "NP" School Management Training Center, Zugdidi City Council, NGOs, A(A) NP "Youth Art Palace" teachers and students. The meeting-workshop took place in Zugdidi Municipality City Hall.
The first day was introductory. Participants got acquainted with the Youth Association DRONI's mission, goals and already implemented projects, as well as the cornerstone 💎of the project #Triangle4Youth. The group held a discussion about why/how the legal leverage (law) should involve the participation of young people and how can the process of applying projects of young people may get more open and flexible.
Next session concerned the key 🔑 competences that are essential for active citizenship and participation according to the European Commission 🇪🇺. Special emphasis was made on the values: empathy and acceptance. Empathy enhancement mechanisms were listed: importance of increased media literacy, 📺 📰 💻 necessity of projects like Human Library, Forum Theater, reflection and it's varieties.
The second part of the day was dedicated to the topic of participation. Ladder of Participation ▃▅▆▇▉ by Hart and Huskins and an activity RMSOS were examined. It turned out that the most familiar stage of participation for the group, unfortunately, were manipulation, tokenism and decoration. 😟
The second day of the study visit was dedicated to the presentation of Erasmus + and specific project ideas were developed. Part of the developed project proposals can be implemented within the local municipality and also within the Erasmus + itself. Project objectives were diverse: large-scale intercultural event-managing 🎭 🎹 🏹 🎤 , conducting youth work in the rural areas, equipping young people with agricultural 🚜 skills, training the teachers in order to promote social inclusion of young people with health problems and other disadvantages, launching intercultural youth exchange about archaeology 💀, etc. The trainers presented NAOMIE model in order to help applicants make their project proposals 📝attractive and clear.
The input turned out to be productive since it was clearly reflected in the project ideas. We look forward to support the trainees developing and implementing these new initiatives!
